Pelicans - Pet Friendly, beach getaway!

My confirmed reservation was canceled after I arrived, ruining our trip Positive: Nothing, as my reservation was canceled after I had already arrived at the destination Negative: I received check-in instructions at 2:46 PM, a welcome message at 4:28 PM, and another message at 4:42 PM thanking me for choosing the property. Then, at 8:04 PM, I received a cancellation notification when I had already arrived in Galveston with my family and our two-year-old child. I was left without accommodation late at night! I tried calling the property owner, but no one answered. Instead, I was simply told to contact Booking.com and resolve the issue myself. The host provided no assistance or alternative accommodation!

The house is nice, or could be. The host was good at staying in touch. The property is a great location with plenty of room, but the house is beginning to fall into disrepair. There are many spots and areas that are not as clean as they could be, lots of broken handles, broken remotes, dirty light switches, old/mismatching appliances, old pots and pans, broken knobs and many light bulbs that need replacing. At arrival one of the beds was unmade and appeared to have been slept in. The front door relies on a code panel that is finicky and occasionally disconnects from the Internet and won’t work. We spent 15 minutes trying to unlock it. Unfortunately, the house is decent, but lots of little problems.

Horrible had to spend an additional $175.00 3 times for hotel accommodations Positive: When we arrived we could not access the property, I tried phoning but go no answer. Then when I was able to contact the owner he said that the code was all set but it wasn’t. We had to book an additional hotel night because we couldn’t get in. They will not refund me even though they said it was a glitch. They offered me 2 additional nights but we were heading out on a cruise to Spain. When I requested a refund I was told I had to go through booking.com and they were also unable to refund me. DO NOT BOOK THREW BOOKING.Com. I know I will never book through them again!!! Negative: Couldn’t enter the property
